For Immediate Release BARNER AND HODGE JOIN HALIFAX REGIONAL BOARD
ROANOKE RAPIDS, NC � (April 18, 2008) � Earnest Barner and William Hodge of Roanoke Rapids have been elected to the Board of Directors of Halifax Regional Medical Center. A native of Roanoke Rapids, Barner graduated from Northwest Halifax High School and Elizabeth City State University. He was a banker until opening a real estate firm, Barner and Associates, in 2000. �Having grown up in the area, I am aware of the health issues facing our community,� said Barner. �I look forward to contributing to the continued progress of our community hospital.� Hodge came to the Roanoke Valley 30 years ago with Patch Rubber Company where he was Vice President and General Manager until his recent retirement. Hodge is a graduate of the Chemical Engineering program at Ohio State University. He also completed Technical Studies at Akron University in Akron, OH and Business Studies at North Western University in Chicago, Ill. �I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the community and assist the Medical Center with its continuing goal of improvement,� he said. Barner and Hodge say Halifax Regional deserves the support of the community. �Halifax Regional is our hospital; it belongs to the community,� they said. �The quality of care provided to patients is excellent, and the Medical Center is a major asset to the community.� Barner and Hodge will serve a three year term and will be eligible for reappointment for two additional terms. There are 14 members of the Board of Directors. |
