Halifax Regional Medical Center is committed to serving the healthcare needs of our community by offering medical financial assistance for anyone who qualifies. We developed the Medical Financial Assistance and Collections Program to ensure that patients who are unable to pay for care receive the medical services they need.

Our Medical Financial Assistance Program includes finding alternative programs that may pay for services, offering monthly payment arrangements and writing off approved charges. It also provides for the review and validation of financial information provided by the applicant to determine if guidelines are met.

We use the Federal Poverty Guidelines to determine the qualification and assistance for each applicant on a sliding scale basis up to 100% of the charges. We also determine on an individual basis the assets, obligations and catastrophic circumstances of an applicant.
