Cardiopulmonary

Halifax Regional’s Cardiopulmonary Department is located on the first floor, near the outpatient entrance.  The department is dedicated to care for patients ranging in age from newborn to senior adult requiring cardiac, respiratory care services, and treatment or testing of cardiac, neurological and respiratory systems.   Both inpatients and outpatients can benefit from various services performed such as breathing treatments, pulmonary function testing, cardiac stress testing, echocardiograms, electrocardiograms (ECG, EKG), and electroencephalograms. The Cardiopulmonary Department offers education on the disease processes affecting the heart and lungs.  Smoking cessation classes are also available.
