Progressive Care Unit

The Progressive Care Unit (PCU), located on the Medical Center's third floor north tower, provides intermediate critical care services for adult and geriatric patients. PCU nurses have specialized skills including advanced cardiac life support and are trained to care for patients requiring close observation and monitoring. State-of-the-art equipment provides on-unit and remote telemetry monitoring of each patient's cardiac rhythm 24 hours a day. EKG, blood pressure and other vital signs can be transmitted from the patients’ bedside directly to the central monitoring station. Technicians specializing in EKG recognition are on duty 24 hours a day to monitor patients’ heart rhythms.
