WHEN THE UNEXPECTED OCCURS
Halifax Regional operates its Emergency Care Center from the first floor of the Medical Center. The entrance is well marked.  Annually, we treat more than 40,000 visitors a year.  Our physicians and nurses have received special training in emergency medicine.

The Emergency Room is for serious illnesses and injuries that need to be treated promptly.

Pain Management Policy

The pain management policy, implemented January 1, 2016, seeks to better treat patients and help them avoid the dangerous side effects of pain medications and curb the potential for addiction. Click image below to download a brochure with more information
