Radiology/Imaging Services
When your doctor orders a scan of your body, accuracy, dependability, ease and convenience counts.
Halifax Regional’s Radiology Department provides quality images of your body that our physicians use to diagnose and care for you. Highly skilled, compassionate technologists will lead you through the process of X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, ultrasounds, mammograms and nuclear medicine with the upmost care.
We invest in the latest diagnostic imaging technology to continue to provide patients with the highest-quality care. The Radiology Department employs the use of a Picture Archive and Communications System, also referred to as PACS, that allows clearer digital images to be viewed.
This advanced technology allows your physician to access digital images and view your test results from anywhere there is internet access so you can be diagnosed and treated as quickly as possible. A CD disk may also be requested from your physician. This CD can be obtained at the main Radiology Department or at the MRI Suite.
Our studies are read by a radiologist, and the results are typically available within 24 hours to your referring physician.
The Radiology Department has received the ACR gold seal of accreditation in Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, MRI and CT, which represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety.
The Radiology Department is open for outpatients 7:30 a.m. –5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Staff is on call for weekends and emergencies.
